The Old Way
Typically you use the keyboard to select menu items in the Microsoft ATC Window. But this is NOT what happens in a "real" cockpit. Hence, the sense of "Virtual Reality" is greatly diminished by the rudimentary Microsoft ATC Window manual selection methodology.

"Abbotsford Tower. Cessna November 176 Charlie Mike. IFR clearance to Seattle. Ready to copy."

    It's Your Plane

    SuperATC© is a subset of the powerful It's Your Plane© programme.

    It's Your Plane (IYP) does a lot more than simply letting you control your flight simulator via the Microsoft Speech engine. IYP works with FS2002, FS2004 and FSX... on XP and Vista with an ever growing list of commonly flown aircraft! IYP is far more than a speech recognition programme that emulates pressing keys on the keyboard like other systems. Rather, IYP let's you control EVERY aspect of the aircraft... "Turn left heading 320", "Climb and maintain flight level 250", "Landing Gear down", "Go to 123.5", "Load the ILS Approach Frequency for Runway 28 left", etc. And, IYP contains a whole host of built-in features like, ACARS (Aircraft Communications Addressing and Reporting System), PIREP (Pilot's Report), a Flight Tracking System, and both Ground and In-Flight Announcements from the Cockpit and Cabin Crew. You can ask your Co-Pilot for Airport METAR (airport weather conditions), Current Flight Data, and much more. Your Co-Pilot periodically tells passengers what they can see to the left and right of the aircraft, local temperatures, etc., via the unique Flight Following Channel. You just talk to your Co-Pilot in a natural manner, using the realistic phraseology that real pilots use.
